Richard “Rick” Gobbell is President and our chief consultant at Gobbell Transportation Safety. He has served at both State and Federal truck enforcement agencies for more than 36 years. He started his career at the Tennessee Public Service Commission in 1973 as a commercial motor vehicle roadside inspector. He then served at the former Interstate Commerce Commission as a District Supervisor until 1978. Rick completed his federal service career at the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in 2007. During these years, Rick conducted about 10,000 roadside truck inspections and more than 1,000 Safety Compliance and Hazardous Materials audits and investigations. He investigated hundreds of truck crashes. Rick is often retained as an expert witness on cases across the United States. .
